I also teach middle school girls. In fact, I am always teaching women. Young women, older women....always teaching. I am so proud of the launch of my newest program, TRUE.2.ME. I have developed it over the course of 3 years and piloted it at an elementary and middle school in Los Angeles with amazing success. The girls are empowered, educated and have a much better understanding of their bodies. The program came about when I realized that women were showing up to my childbirth classes in their 3rd trimester, clueless about their anatomy, their hormones, their cycles and the miracle of their bodies. Women came in with abuse histories and childhood emotional and sexual trauma. Women came in never having told a soul- and they shared with me as we got deeper into the classes and built rapport.
I discovered that we have to educate our girls (and boys) early. When they have knowledge of the miracle of their body they develop love for it, they become protective of it and they learn to trust it. They learn to trust their instinct and they learn to speak up when something does not feel right. Then guess what? Many of these women become mamas and have many choices to make. How beautiful that their body connection and marvel started decade(s) before motherhood.
Classes can be held in a private setting or, if you are a school administrator or counselor group classes can be held at your middle school.
